The Power of One…Maybe…

The Ongoing things which are happening in India must have forced most of us to start thinking in what direction are we and the country is heading.  I’m studying engineering and I once had a thought in my head that one day I will do something for my country using this degree. But now I don’t give a rat’s ass for what I’ll do for the country.
It’s easy…very easy for kids like me to give up hope for this country...The events happening everyday is as if you wake up every day expecting some bad news about  the country…the newspapers have added a regular column in the  newspaper like the “daily bad news about the country column”. It devastates me…pains me even if I think about it minutely.

I and we live in a country where rational thinkers like Mr. Dhabolkar are shot down slothfully and shockingly while enjoying a morning power walk. Me being a through atheist and rationalist felt this murder as a warning to thinking like mine. What the fuck can you do where the way you think is shot down with 3 bullets? Not just this, but even a year hasn’t gone by nor the wounds of the nirbhaya rape case have healed when another similar case crops up...This time in Mumbai… why this thinking? Why? The obvious thing to do about this is not ask why on social media websites but I’m precisely doing the same thing. That’s all we can do. The rallies and signed petitions are not working…are they? I don’t mind contradicting myself in this case. It’s the shame I can’t handle. What if this happens to someone who’s close to me? How will I handle that? Will the likes or the tweets come to help me? No they won’t…

The prices of essential commodities are shot high up. I have no idea what’s causing this…I’m not an economist or a share market guy. But all I know is that this thing shouldn’t cost as much as it is being sold at to the general public. The politics happening in this country has reached a whole new pathetic level. The NaMo followers and the Congress Followers are at eternal loggerheads. There’s no end to that discussion. I think Mr. Jhamvar and Mr. Lokhandwala will agree to that with me. But then we as the common public – “The Aam Aadmi” have our hands full.  Some where this has to be broken and the betterment of the common man has to be taken into the view. But let’s be blunt. Is this gonna happen in the near future? I don’t think so.

This made me think about the power of one… what if a single man dictates over India. Is it gonna bring some change? Like Hitler to Germany, Mussolini to Italy, Napoleon to France and to be recent Saddam to Iraq. They had power…all of these men. Thought the public under them suffered a lot. But then their countries were under great shape. They molded what was to become of this countries. Removing the exception of Baghdad, the others have flourished under dictatorship. I know India is the biggest democracy, but is it really? Is the voice of the common man really the voice of the nation? Is it really with the people, for the People and by the people. It’s a question to think.

I’m not hoping for this article to reach many people. Bu even if one person feels the guilt that I feel right now, the shame altogether then my writing has bore goodness. I love my country for what is is…not for what it has become…don’t judge me by it…

Absconding...

No..This is not what I wanted in life...but shit happens....as I can express it best in words...wrote the fucking thing down...can do nothing else...

As I walk on red crumpled leaves, I think of what like has done to make me happy.

And I find no light on the horizon. The laughs I had seem so distant. The smiles are hard to recollect.

The home I go to is home no more. The warmth & the need to go to the place I call home is lost.

Your calls don't excite me any more  Your messages don't bring that smile no more. My arms are tired waiting for your hug & my lips are dry without your touch.

That caring touch of care is gone, the new one is as fake as snow. Yeah , she's no more, but her soul protects me. The motherly love is no more but her smile is all I need.

The father whose finger I had held when I was small, has shrugged off my hand completely. Tell me, what have I done, to deserve this treatment from thee. I still have that hope, that you will realize how wrong you are. I'm still waiting for that comforting call from you to me.

All these things affect me inside, but outside I'm strong, showing I don't care. But I know it pains when it pinches.
